Real Madrid star opens his first hotel
Cristiano Ronaldo has unveiled the first in his own line of 'CR7' hotels in his hometown of Madeira.
Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo has opened his first hotel from his 'CR7' line.
Ronaldo in December, 2015 unveiled his range of 'CR7' hotels in different four cities which he invested £54m on.
The
hotels are to be located in his hometown of Madeira, Lisbon, Madrid and
New York. The Portugal international on Friday, July 22 unveiled the
first one which is located in his hometown of Madeira.
Ronaldo owns the hotels in partnership with Pestana Hotels who will be managing the venture for the legendary football star.
Ronaldo and Dionisio Pestana have been friends for many years and have decided to invest in a business together.
The hotel in Madeira has 49 rooms - 25 of which are referred to as 'CR7 type rooms', in reference to the Real Madrid man.
"The first Pestana CR7 had to be in Funchal - my city that also is considered the best island by the World Travel Awards," Ronaldo said.
"It
is a great pride for me - the opening of this my first hotel. It marks
my entrance into a completely new area. This new project is going to be a
huge success in the four corners of the world."
His
popular CR7 brand is the main inspiration behind the hotel line, which
is boutique in style and will appeal to young millennial travelers.
Although they may not
be considered luxury, their target is an upscale clientele. Ronaldo’s
other venture like his fragrance, a planned furniture CR7 line will be
integrated into the business.
The 31-year-old was recently named the fourth highest-earning celebrity of the past 12 months by Forbes Magazine.
According
to Forbes, Ronaldo earned $88million (£66m) in the last year, $6.5m
(£4.9m) more than Barcelona rival Lionel Messi, who was eighth on the
list.
